Tell us if the residence hall requires a specific mover, a time slot, or a ban on personal trucks. Some campuses only allow approved vendors. If we are not on that list, we will say so instead of arriving to be turned around.
Small inventories can still need two people and a real dolly. A single mattress on a walk-up is a job. If you rented the van already, labor-only movers may fit better than a full apartment moving service with our truck.

Reserve the elevator before you reserve your weekend mood. Ask about pads, elevator reservations, and whether moves are banned on Sundays. Measure the sofa against the elevator and the stair turn. Defrost the refrigerator. Pack a first-night bag. Label boxes by room because apartment hallways are not a sorting facility.
Packing helps when the kitchen is small and the glass is not. Furniture movers help when the whole household is really three large pieces and a bed.

Will you take furniture down a tight stair?
If it can be done without damaging the building or the piece, and the path was described. If a sofa will not turn, we stop and talk. Forcing it is not a service.
Is parking our problem or yours?
Both. You know the building's rules. We need them in time to plan a permit, a dock, or a shuttle. A surprise tow zone is lost time.
